Unos 350.000 españoles siguen cursos a través de internet, la mitad de ellos universitarios y el resto con contenidos diversos como medicina china, inglés o preparación para oposiciones, según el estudio Bioeduca 2006, elaborado por el Observatorio Español de Internet. El director del Observatorio Español de Internet, Francesc Canals, informó ayer que uno de cada diez universitarios ya es virtual €“unos 170.000 en toda España .
El porcentaje total de estudiantes a distancia de cualquier disciplina se sitúa en España en el 5 por ciento, cifra que refleja que "importantes segmentos de la población no han podido adaptarse con comodidad a la oferta educativa presencial", según Canals, que augura que esta cifra crecerá e incluso se doblará de tres a cinco años.
Canals ha indicado que el informe concluye que el denominado 'e-learning' (estudio a través de internet) se estabilizará en el 10 por ciento de alumnos, por "la cultura del trato presencial en todo el ámbito mediterráneo", frente a porcentajes más elevados que se registran en países nórdicos.
